Called LogoFor those who serve in ministry, seeking to understand a sense of calling as it relates to family, faith, and vocation is often a demanding endeavor. For many ministers, this journey of personal discovery involves a lifetime of unpacking the complexities of the inner life as they live out their calling in service to God, others, and their community. With an increasing number of women responding to a sense of personal calling to ministry, Logsdon Seminary and Texas Baptists partnered together to present the fifth annual Women in Ministry Conference at Hardin-Simmons University’s Logsdon Seminary on April 1, 2011. Drawing more than 150 ministers and students from around the state, the conference theme, Called, reflected the issues of personal and corporate calling at the center of life's journey for many ministers. This year’s Women in Ministry Conference represents the third time Logsdon and Hardin-Simmons have hosted and co-sponsored the event.

Women in Ministry Conferences resource anyone interested in issues related to women in ministry, especially Texas Baptist students preparing for ministry through graduate and undergraduate theological education. The conference will offer encouragement, support, and connections for women who sense a call to vocational ministry, while also offering a venue for both women and men to engage issues related to the collaborative necessity of ministry in a rapidly changing culture. Registered attendees at this conference had the opportunity to participate in a number of sessions, breakouts, workshops, and discussions designed to provide space for discovery and dialogue related to the historical development of religious calling, implications of corporate and personal calling for Christian ministry, and contemporary issues specific to women seeking to express their calling through vocational ministry service.
