James L. Heflin serves as Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Logsdon Seminary.  He joined the faculty in the fall of 2001.  James earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Arkansas at Monticello, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Theology degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has done post-doctoral study at Cambridge University in England.  He has served as General Secretary of The European Baptist Convention (now International Baptist Convention), Professor of Preaching at Southwestern Seminary, Professor of Preaching at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and as pastor of churches in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.  He has led several mission trips to Central and South America.  He has co-authored two books on preaching and contributed a chapter to a text on revival preaching.  He regularly serves as an interim pastor and guest preacher.  James is a member of the Association of Ministry Guidance Professionals.
